The Prime Minister's announcement reflects the recognition of the immense impact of the Marshall Scholarship in its 70 year history through the work and significant contributions of its more than 2,000 alumni.

Your ongoing engagement with the AMS and your support of the Marshall Scholarship have been instrumental in shaping the future of the program.  Thank you.

The AMS will continue to work with all stakeholders and the British Government to help advocate for a permanent and sustainable source of funding that can strengthen and sustain the Marshall Scholarship.

After World War II, The Marshall Plan brought the UK, Europe and the US together in agreement on important shared principles:  democracy, basic human rights, rule of law, freer trade, and a commitment to work together through international cooperation to ensure human advancement, peace and prosperity. The Marshall Scholarship is a human embodiment of this legacy.

We are grateful to all of you who are helping to ensure that this scholarship can remain an irreplaceable vehicle for transatlantic friendship and understanding for generations to come.
