TERMS OF USE

Alumni Directory Terms of Use

The AMS Marshall Alumni Directory (“Alumni Directory”) is open to AMS alumni and maintained by AMS staff. It may also become open to current Marshall Scholars. By agreeing to these Terms of Use you consent that AMS and authorized users of the Alumni Directory can use and access information you choose to provide.

  • The Alumni Directory is organized as an opt-in private group for the benefit of the Marshall Scholar alumni community, to foster ongoing relationships and contact between Scholars, in a manner consistent with the values of the AMS and the Marshall Scholarship.

  • The Alumni Directory is intended to enable recent alumni or currently enrolled Scholars to contact other alumni for simple questions of advice, perspective and suggestions. It is also intended to enable participating alumni to get in touch with other participating alumni.

  • The Alumni Directory is not designed as a formal mentoring program, nor does it provide access to jobs or sponsorships.

  • Interactions that occur in these groups must remain aligned with AMS purpose and values.

  • For clarity, exchanges that occur in these groups must remain contained to these groups or to another AMS forum and are not shared publicly.

  • The Alumni Directory is not for direct solicitations of any kind, including political fundraising.

  • You may not use other users’ information for commercial purposes, to spam, to harass, or to make unlawful threats.

  • Collection or harvesting of any personally identifiable information from AMS Connect, including user or account names, is prohibited.

  • Only you are authorized to access your account. You must not share your password with anyone or let anyone else access your account as this jeopardizes the security for everyone. If you suspect that someone has gained access to your account, you must let AMS staff know immediately of your suspicions or concerns. You must also immediately change your password.

  • You may not post or share any content which contains expletives or language which could be deemed offensive; is obscene, pornographic or otherwise may offend human dignity; is abusive, insulting or threatening, or which promotes or encourages racism, sexism, hatred or bigotry; encourages any illegal activity including, without limitation, terrorism, inciting racial hatred or the submission of which in itself constitutes committing a criminal offense; is defamatory; relates to commercial activities (including, without limitation, sales, competitions and advertising); involves the transmission of “junk” mail or “spam”; contains any spy ware, adware, viruses, corrupt files, worm programs or other malicious code designed to interrupt, damage or limit the functionality of or disrupt any software, hardware, telecommunications, networks, servers or other equipment, trojan horse or any other material designed to damage, interfere with, wrongly intercept or expropriate any data or personal information on the platform; or itself, or the posting of which, infringes any third party’s rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights and privacy rights).
