Juri Toomre Awarded Hazel Barnes Prize

The University of Colorado-Boulder has awarded Professor Juri Toomre the 2010 Hazel Barnes Prize, its highest faculty honor. The prize recognizes Toomre's research in solar physics, astrophysical fluid dynamics, supercomputing simulations and helioseismology, the study of solar oscillations to learn more about the sun's interior structure, as well as his teaching record. Toomre has led research projects for  the National Science Foundation and NASA projects.
