Why Give to the AMS

This is an exciting time of rebirth and growth for the Association of Marshall Scholars and the new leadership encourages our entire community to re-engage with the Association and its programs. Of course, this growth and activity requires an expanded resource base, which is why your contribution is so important. Your membership contribution will go to towards three areas:

  1. Operating funds for activities: The Association has already hosted several programs in support of new and current scholars, regional alumni and friends in the British government. For example, the most recent send-off for new scholars featured Association member and Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and British Ambassador to the United States, Nigel Sheinwald. These activities would not exist without member support.
  2. Continue the special relationship between Marshall Scholars and our UK hosts: The Marshall Scholarship celebrates the special relationship between the United States and Great Britain and the Association of Marshall Scholars is proud to continue to nurture that relationship through maintaining its ties to the Foreign and Commonweatlh Office, the several academic institutions and the myriad business and cultural institutions that constitute our enduring relationship.
  3. Expansion and enrichment of AMS programs:  Recent enthusiasm about AMS programs has brought with it the possibility of several new and enhanced programs, including increased diversity of activities across Marshall regions. Your contribution is necessary to build the resource base to fund these activities and provide for the long term growth and health of our organization.
